From Sunday, 12th November 2017 to Thursday, 16th November 2017, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK Ghana) in collaboration with the German Development Corporation’s Renewable Energy Development Programme (PDP) and with support from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, broke ground with a German renewable energy business delegation that sought to look at more efficient solutions for manufacturing industries in Ghana. The delegation offered first-hand products, services and insights to ensure more efficient use of energy in support of the “One-District One-Factory” initiative.

   

Participants of the trade mission - GRIPS Energy AG, Redavia GmbH, Autarsys GmbH, Holzenergie-Wegscheid, AZ Climate Solutions and Wind Technik Nord met with industry players and business partners such as Unilever Ghana, Cocoa Processing Ghana Limited, Volta River Authority, AngloGold Ashanti, Euroget Group Ghana, Premium Foods Limited, EleQtra West Africa as well as the first commissioned “One-District One-Factory Project” – Ekumfi Pineapple Factory in Capecoast.

The trade mission consisted of 4 days of content driven B2B meetings and a conference, that offered a platform to discuss the strengths and weaknesses in renewable energy market in Ghana, key topics on financing, energy demand in Ghanaian industries and the development of renewable energy in Ghana. The conference which was held on Tuesday,14th November 2017 was well attended with over 140 participants including representatives from the Association of Ghana Industries, the Renewable Energy Association of Ghana, public and private renewable energy companies, project developers, banks amongst others.
